GEMS – Green Energy Management Systems for business parks
Period: 2024 – 2027
Funding: Interreg North-West Europe, House of Energy and Wirschaftsförderung Kassel
GEMS aims to create Energy Management System (EMS) solutions in business parks (BP), where small and medium-sized enterprises
(SMEs) co-invest to enhance energy efficiency and Renewable Energy consumption, reducing grid congestion. GEMS targets this
opportunity by developing smart EMS solutions for mid-sized business parks (1-20 MW). 4 knowledge partners and 5 BSOs in NL, FR, IE,
DE, BE will validate the GEMS framework at 6 pilot sites, enabling SMEs to collectively invest in and benefit from EMS solutions.
By enabling BPs to better manage their energy consumption and enable storing excess renewable energy, GEMS transforms these areas into key, grid-reinforcing energy hubs, improving energy efficiency and reducing grid pressure.
