Dr.-Ing. Daniel Franz
Picture: IMS

Daniel Franz studied Mechanical and Process Engineering at TU Darmstadt. During his studies, he already was interested in mechatronic systems, like kinetic energy storages and active magnetic bearings. The focus of his Master’s thesis lay on self-sensing active magnetic bearings.

Since November 2015 he is a research assistant in the Energy Systems group at the IMS. His work focuses on kinetic energy storage systems in the outer rotor design and the fatigue behavior of their rotor made of fiber reinforced plastic..

Subject of dissertation (2021): Magnetgelagerter Schleuderprüfstand zur Untersuchung der Betriebsfestigkeit von Faserverbund-Rotoren (ISBN: 978-3-8440-8088-9).
