Omar Fahmy, M.Sc.

Omar Fahmy studied Mechatronics at the University of Hannover. In his bachelor's thesis and during his research assistant activities, he focused on the modeling of the kinematics of snake robots.

During his master’s studies, he shifted his attention toward automotive engineering. In the first part of his master’s program, he worked on the simulation of fully electric powertrains and was a member of the Formula Student Team HorsePower Hannover.

In the second part of his master’s studies, he completed an internship at SEAT S.A. in Barcelona, where he focused on the simulation and evaluation of electric powertrains for the next-generation CUPRA vehicles.

Immediately afterward, he went through two additional phases at SEAT S.A. In the second phase, he worked on a project focused on approximating the efficiency of electric vehicle transmissions, while continuing the tasks from his first internship. In the third phase, he further extended these activities, gaining deeper experience in electric drivetrain systems. His master’s thesis focused on the use of AI-driventhermal sensors for electric motors.

Since November 2024, Mr. Fahmy has been a member of the Vehicle Systems Research Group at IMS, where he focuses on the analysis and evaluation of innovative powertrain concepts.
