Simon Massat studied economics and electrical engineering at the TU Darmstadt. The main focus of his studies was on the area of electrical power systems. From June 2019 to May 2022 he worked as a research assistant at the institute Electrical Power Supply with Integration of Renewable Energy (TU Darmstadt). There he was engaged in load flow calculations in the transmission system and in ampacity calculations of buried high voltage power cables.
Since September 2022, he has been a research assistant in the energy systems research group at the IMS with the aim of obtaining a doctorate. The focus of his research is the cross-sectoral coupling of hybrid fuel cell vehicles to buildings and the analysis of the resulting potentials and flexibility.
