Benedikt Schüßler studied Mechanical Engineering with focus of Mechatronics at the TU Darmstadt and the Politecnico di Torino in Italy. In his bachelor thesis he already dealt with the topic of kinetic energy storages.
Since July 2018, he is part of the Energy Systems research group. He works on the advancement of outer rotor flywheels. The focus of his research are the touch-down bearings of the magnetically levitated systems. In the project KoREV-SMS2 he investigates the rotor behavior during drop down in simulations as well as in experiments.
