Rica is based on a single-arm YuMi from our cooperation partner ABB and enables collaborative applications. Power and force limitations allow the system to be used without traditional safeguards, making it ideal for direct access for research activities and teaching.
“Rica can be used to investigate new applications for redundant manipulators and collaborative systems, for example with regard to optimal and safe action and motion planning. A balance of data- and model-based methods as well as the combination of classical approaches in robotics with current machine learning techniques will open up new potentials,” says Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Clever. Thus, Rica is an elementary part of the robotics team and enables innovative research projects.
