Sidharth Dave, M.Sc.

Sidharth Dave graduated with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal University in India after which he worked with Tata Motors Ltd. in the Commercial Vehicles Business Unit. As an Automotive Service Engineer he was responsible for the daily operation of the Bus Depots of the Delhi Transport Corporation, and the maintenance and roadworthiness of the buses.

In April 2020 he obtained his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Ground Vehicles) from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) which had a focus in mechanical vibrations, dynamics, and control systems. As part of his master’s thesis he worked on driver assistance systems and was involved in the development of a stabilization system for electric vehicle-trailer systems by means of active torque vectoring. Thereafter, he joined a technology startup in Netherlands as an Algorithm Development Engineer.

Since October 2021, he is a research assistant at IMS and is a part of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 project ‘LIVE-I’. As an industrial doctoral candidate in the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Research Fellowship Programme he will be working towards the development of lightweight gear transmission systems. His work will focus on the improvement of the NVH characteristics and the efficiency of the transmission by implementing active control strategies using the available traction machine of the vehicle.
